The third and final part of the homage is nearly complete.

The canoe, worked by Waradgerie artist Lorraine Connelly-Northey from a discarded First Settler water pipe, has been set onto the stones as if Tommy just pulled it from the water after fishing for his family. An information sign describing her vision is ready to be installed at the Rotary deck.

This past year has been a rich and rewarding experience, and I am honoured to be part of such an active and aware arts community. 

It is the dedication of the Committee that must be acknowledged and the spirit of teamwork and collaboration that has made Arts Rutherglen an association of which I am proud to be part.
