On Sunday 28 February, Arts Rutherglen celebrated International Women’s Day , with inspirational speaker Genevieve O’Reilly, speaking to the theme “Choose to Challenge”. Here are some snap shots of the event, held at Tulleries, Restaurant in Rutherglen.
Known for attracting a depth of artistic talent from around Australia, the Rutherglen Tastes of Art Prize has received a record number of over 500 entries for 2021.
This is the fourth successful prize. It coincides with beautiful autumn weather and local wine and produce events.
Chief administrator, Irena Webster said this event will be appreciated more than ever. “Artists have shown us this already and we are so excited to bring their work to everyone at the Rutherglen Memorial Hall over 6th – 14th March. We hope this window enables many people the chance to attend.”
Judging will be undertaken on 4 March, by talented and renowned Wangaratta local, Di Mangan. Winners will be announced at the Gala Cocktail Opening Evening on 5th March at 6.30pm. Numbers to the opening are limited. The opening is traditionally attended by artists participating in the event.
Irena said, “We understand there will be people who will miss out on attending the opening, however from 10am the following morning, 6th March, we very much welcome as many people as possible for viewing and purchase, in a Covidsafe environment.”
Bookings are required online via Try Booking and you must select the day you wish to attend….but please come any time during opening hours from 10am – 4pm on your chosen day. Tickets are $5 per person.
