Following hot on the heels of the very successful Busking Festival Weekend in May 2022, aRTS Rutherglen has been staging live music events at various venues around Rutherglen (and the wider area).
These shows have featured original songwriters from both Australia and overseas who are touring through regional Victoria. This music events program is supported by Indigo FM and Destination Rutherglen.
The emphasis is on showcasing the vast, diverse talent of these independent artists as they share their stories – within their lyrics and also in their chat between songs.
We also like to encourage young singer-songwriters and performers from the area by way of being the opening act. To date we are delighted to have given opportunities to Lilly Ciufici (Wahgunyah), Mieke Bosland (Beechworth), Jack Gregory (Yackandandah) and Molly Jane (Chiltern).
Organising future Live Music Events
We now have a Sub-Committee comprising Dave Daly, Trudy Walsh, Simone Pfeiffer and Scott Landells to plan our annual live music program. All enquiries to artsrutherglen@gmail.com.
