We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate with us our official opening of the Tommy McRae Tribute at Lake King Park in Rutherglen on Saturday April 23rd.
This celebration will have two sessions.
Session One is free and open to all and will be at the Viewing Deck at 4– 5:30pm. No ticket required. Descendants of Tommy McRae will lead us in acknowledging his legacy.
Session Two, at The Gallery, De Bortoli’s Rutherglen Estates, commences at 6pm until 8pm. This will feature music performed by NICKY MOFFAT, a grandson of Tommy and Lily McRae. This is a ticketed event limited to 80 guests.
A little bit about Nicky Moffat
Nicky grew up in Morwell, where he taught himself the guitar at the age of 8 years old. Nicky has played with many bands during his career including No Fixed Address, the first Aboriginal band to tour overseas (in 1984). Other bands include Coloured Stone who supported Carlos Santana, The Clash, Bob Marley’s Wailers, Ian Dury and The Block Heads. Nicky was inducted to the Aboriginal Hall of Fame twice.
